On April 26, a citywide cleanup event was held in Astana as part of the environmental initiative "Taza Kazakhstan".
Samruk-Energy JSC employees participated in the event and helped with landscaping at the intersection of S. Nurmagambetov street and R. Kosharbayev avenue.
Sustainable development and environmental responsibility are among the top priorities of Samruk-Energy JSC.
The first quarter of 2025 marked a true breakthrough. Thanks to the effective collaboration between Bogatyr Komir LLP and NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, a record 3.9 million tonnes of coal were shipped to consumers in February.
Every day, solid fuel was dispatched via 33 train routes — reliably, precisely, and without a single disruption. This achievement was made possible through the strong coordination and dedication of both the mining and railway teams.
To mark the occasion, Vadim Kopylov, Director of the Integrated Planning Department at NC KTZh JSC, sent a letter of appreciation to Bogatyr Komir.
"We appreciate Bogatyr Komi LLP’s proactive efforts to enhance loading operations and make efficient use of station infrastructure. These initiatives have played a key role in ensuring the consistent dispatch of block trains, achieving strong production results, and improving railcar turnaround times" - the letter stated.
Samruk-Energy JSC continues to improve the social and workplace conditions of production staff across its subsidiaries. As part of a broader social program launched during the Year of skilled professions, Almaty Power Plants (APP) has introduced, for the first time, a project to provide free hot meals to employees working in production workshops.
At the A. Zhakutov CHP-2 plant alone, over 900 employees now benefit from high-quality, well-balanced meals every day. To accommodate 24/7 operations, the cafeteria remains open around the clock. The menu is carefully planned, dietary standards are strictly followed, and most importantly—an environment of respect and care has been fostered. Professional chefs prepare meals with dedication, food technologists monitor quality, and the initial response from staff has been overwhelmingly positive.
“We truly appreciate the management’s focus on our well-being. This is a meaningful investment in our health and daily comfort. The food is great, the portions are generous, and everyone feels satisfied. It positively impacts our performance”- said Mukhamedzhan Oralbekov, production foreman at PRE EnergoRemont.
The initiative will soon expand to other facilities, including the B. Orazbayev CHP-1, CHP-3, Sh. Chokin Kapshagay HPP, the HPP Cascade, WHC, and others. In total, nearly 3,000 employees will be covered by the free meal program.
To strengthen preventive measures for reducing workplace injuries and ensuring safe working conditions, all enterprises within Samruk-Energy JSC Group are conducting a Safety and Occupational Health month-long campaign, timed to coincide with World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Throughout the month-long campaign, all production departments conduct scheduled workplace audits to further enhance occupational safety.
As part of the Year of Safety and Occupational Health within Samruk-Energy JSC Group, new tools for ensuring workplace safety are being introduced. For instance, Almaty Power Plants has established a Centralized Safety Compliance Monitoring Center. This system enables real-time monitoring of adherence to safety standards, including the use of personal protective equipment, identification of potentially hazardous areas, and oversight of workers’ conditions.
During the month-long campaign, employees in the production departments of subsidiary enterprises participate in training on emergency response procedures and workshops on first aid. Elevating the culture of safety in the workplace is an integral part of the strategy to achieve zero injuries.
