Samruk-Energy participates in Power Central Asia + China forum

The first regional energy forum Power Central Asia + China, held in Astana and aligned with the second "Central Asia – China" summit, brought together key players from the regional energy sector. Samruk-Energy JSC was represented at the event by Chief Investment Officer Ansar Aidarov.

In his remarks, it was noted that Samruk-Energy JSC has adopted the Energy Transition Program through 2060, which outlines a strategic response to global climate challenges and the need to transform the national energy mix. The Program defines two decarbonization scenarios: a baseline scenario targeting carbon neutrality by 2060, and an accelerated scenario aiming to reduce emissions by 2050, contingent on international support and access to advanced technologies.

Key measures under the Program include the development of renewable energy sources, the modernization of existing generation assets, and the deployment of low-carbon technologies. The Program is closely aligned with the ESG agenda, with a focus on energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and workforce development.

Samruk-Energy sees its partnership with China as a catalyst for green growth and energy sector modernization, with an emphasis on localization and the advancement of low-carbon energy solutions in Kazakhstan.
