On the eve of Victory Day, employees of Samruk-Energy honored their veterans with deep reverence and gratitude.

At CHP-1 named after B. Orazbaev, a solemn event was held to mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. Following tradition, the plant’s employees laid flowers at the Victory Obelisk on the premises. The youth group of the power plant, together with union representatives, visited home front veterans Praskovya Aksenova and Alexey Korobkin.

Employees of Almaty CHP- 3 extended congratulations to home front workers, including Valentina Semenovna Maksimenko, who turned 94.

Employees of Bogatyr Komir LLP also visited veterans and home front workers, expressing profound gratitude for the peaceful skies above and presenting them with commemorative medals.

The team of Alatau Zharyk Company JSC also expressed gratitude to veterans and home front workers ahead of Victory Day. Among them was veteran Kambar Amirovich Sarsenov, who served on the front lines during the war in a rifle regiment of the Kalinin, Baltic, and Belarusian fronts. For his courage and bravery, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star, Orders of Glory III and II Degrees, and other medals.

Employees of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shulbinsk HPPs held a traditional volunteer initiative for Victory Day to support World War II veterans, former child prisoners of concentration camps, and survivors of the Leningrad blockade. Using voluntary contributions collected by employees of both stations, approximately 500 kWh of electricity was covered for all individuals in these categories residing in East Kazakhstan and Abay regions. Financial aid was provided to 30 families.

The veterans expressed heartfelt gratitude to the employees of Samruk-Energy JSC companies for their attention, care, and remembrance, which unites generations and inspires continued efforts for peace and prosperity.

 

 

Aidos Masiraliev, an operator at the central thermal control panel for steam turbines at CHP- 1 named after B. Orazbaev, climbed the 28 Panfilovtsy Peak to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory, honoring the heroes’ legacy.

“I wanted to pay tribute not with words, but through action”, - Aidos says. Despite cold, fatigue, and lack of oxygen, he reached the summit, drawing inspiration from the resilience of the Panfilovtsy and his family that also cherishes the memory of wartime veterans.

Aidos is the winner of the “Outstanding Production Specialist – 2024” award. He has completed several climbs, each time carrying APP flag.

This is more than sport. It symbolizes the continuity of generations, demonstrating that memory endures—through actions, deeds, and the hearts of today’s new heroes.

 

 

A grand charitable event, organized by Samruk-Kazyna Fund, was held in the Botanical Garden of Astana. Over 50 employees from the Head office and subsidiaries of Samruk-Energy JSC participated in the run.

The marathon featured races of 5 km and 10 km. In the 10 km race, second place was secured by Gazi Ismukhambetov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of APP JSC (age category 60+), and Raigul Ryskulova, an employee of Ekibastuz CHP (age category 40–49).

Erzhan Zhanmailov, a lead repair service specialist at APP JSC (age category 40–49), and Bekzat Kalelov, an electrician at CHP-1 of APP JSC (age category 18–29), earned third place.

The funds collected during the marathon will support the establishment of inclusive classrooms for children with special educational needs.

 

 

Ekibastuz CHP successfully powered through the 2024–2025 autumn-winter season, delivering reliable equipment performance and uninterrupted heat supply to customers.
Pre-season upgrades and repairs slashed fuel consumption significantly: mazut (heavy fuel oil) usage dropped 3.5 times, from 3,284 tons to 949 tons. This reduction reflects stable operation of core equipment and a boost in the plant’s overall efficiency. 

In June 2024, Ekibastuz CHP was placed under the trust management of  Samruk-Energy JSC Its subsidiary, Energy Solutions Center LLP swiftly executed extensive repairs and prepped the plant for winter.
The work included major and routine maintenance on ten boiler units, one turbine unit, auxiliary systems, and plant-wide infrastructure. Repairs were also completed on the ash dump dam, buildings, and structures, alongside the construction of a clarified water pipeline within the plant’s premises. 

These efforts, part of the 2024–2025 heating season preparations, reduced core equipment wear by 3.7%, from 51.8% to 48.1%, and cut technological disruptions by 90%, from 191 to 18. Notably, no disruptions during the autumn-winter period impacted heat supply reliability. 

With the heating season concluded, Ekibastuz CHP is gearing up for the next autumn-winter period. Ongoing repairs are in full swing, with plans for 11 maintenance projects, including major overhauls of six more boiler units and chimney No. 3.
