Samruk-Energy JSC held a strategic session on the integration of artificial intelligence across its subsidiaries as part of the “AI Leaders” program.
The event was attended by Kairat Maxutov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC. The session brought together executives from across Samruk-Energy group and became a key platform for discussing the role of AI in the energy sector.
The main objective of the session was to establish a unified direction for AI-driven initiatives, identify priority areas, and define practical steps for scaling digital solutions across Samruk-Energy group.
As part of Samruk-Energy group’s HR Policy Implementation Plan for 2023–2031, an annual meeting was held between members of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC) of Samruk-Energy JSC Board of Directors and high-potential employees included in the company’s succession plan and talent pool.
This year’s central theme was Developing strategic thinking, a priority skill for professionals working in a fast-evolving and highly competitive energy sector. In the context of global shifts across the industry—including the transition to sustainable energy sources, digitalization, and climate challenges—the ability to design and execute long-term strategies has become essential for lasting success.
During the event, participants engaged in practical tasks, interactive exercises, and case studies aimed at strengthening strategic thinking capabilities. Discussions emphasized the importance of forward-looking decision-making amid rapidly changing technologies and energy markets.
Participants demonstrated a high level of engagement and a strong interest in the future of the energy industry, underscoring the role of strategic thinking in ensuring the company’s sustainable development.
The meeting featured remarks from NRC members, who shared their insights and strategic perspectives, offering valuable guidance for further professional growth. They expressed confidence in the strong potential of the company’s talent pool and wished participants success on their leadership journey—particularly within the energy sector, which demands agility, innovation, and the ability to navigate global challenges.
As a result of the meeting, participants gained not only theoretical knowledge but also practical tools to strengthen their strategic approach in their professional roles.
Askar Baltabayev, Managing Director for Procurement and Risks at Samruk-Energy JSC, held a review meeting to assess the procurement performance of the group’s subsidiaries and affiliates over the first ten months of the year.
The discussion focused on key procurement metrics, including the achievement of the annual plan, engagement with domestic manufacturers, the share of local content, and the efficiency of procurement activities. Special attention was given to advancing import substitution and expanding the use of offtake contracts as an effective tool to support national producers.
In 2025, the Samruk-Energy group expects to sign contracts for goods worth KZT 199.5 billion, with local content accounting for 74% of the total. These figures demonstrate steady progress in increasing the participation of domestic companies in procurement processes.
Following the meeting, subsidiaries and affiliates were instructed to ensure full compliance with Samruk-Kazyna JSC’s procurement regulations, prioritize domestic manufacturers in procurement activities, and continue efforts to increase the share of local content.
Samruk-Energy remains committed to supporting domestic manufacturers, enhancing procurement transparency, and developing a sustainable supply chain in the energy sector.
According to research conducted by Samruk Research Services (SRS), the social stability index across Samruk-Energy group of companies reached 77% in 2025, representing an 8% increase compared to 2024.
The final SRS index is calculated based on three components:
engagement index;
social well-being index;
social calmness index.
This result reflects a positive trend in labor and social relations within the Company’s group. The increase in the index confirms the effectiveness of measures implemented and the Company’s consistent efforts to enhance social policies and corporate culture.
