Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC, Kairat Maxutov, held a working meeting with Mr. Zhou Qingke, Vice President of China Huadian Overseas Investment Company Limited. The parties discussed potential areas of cooperation in the energy sector, including the implementation of investment projects and the construction of new generation facilities in Kazakhstan.
Special emphasis was placed on the modernization of existing thermal power plants using advanced technologies, as well as the digitalization and integration of artificial intelligence in energy asset management processes.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to initiate experience sharing and to hold the next round of negotiations in Beijing, China.
China Huadian Corporation Ltd. (CHD) is one of China’s largest state-owned energy groups and one of the country’s five national power generation operators. The company’s total installed capacity exceeds 240 GW, with 56.2% derived from clean energy sources. Internationally, CHD operates 5.46 GW of power generation assets.
In 2024, the company commissioned 23 GW of renewable energy facilities, with an additional 36 GW currently under construction and over 40 GW in the development pipeline.
