Samruk-Energy and China Energy International discuss implementation of joint investment projects

A meeting between Kairat Maxutov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC, and Mr. Lu Zexiang, Chairman of the Management Board of China Energy International Group, was held at the headquarters of China Energy Engineering Corporation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the advancement of joint investment projects focused on the construction of solar and wind power plants. Specifically, both sides agreed to expedite all necessary procedures to enable the timely commencement of construction of a 300 MW solar power plant in the Turkistan region within the current year, as well as a 500 MW wind power plant in the Karaganda region, scheduled for 2026.

In addition, the parties discussed preparations for the China–Central Asia Summit, which is set to take place in June 2025 in Astana with the participation of Heads of State. It is expected that project agreements will be signed during the summit.

Furthermore, the company executives outlined specific steps to enhance future cooperation in the construction and modernization of energy infrastructure across the Republic of Kazakhstan.
