Implementation of renewable energy projects discussed by Samruk-Energy and China Energy International Group

A meeting was held between  Kairat Maxutov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC, and Qiao Xubin, President of China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., with the participation of senior executives from Energy China subsidiaries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Energy China’s current activities and investment plans in the Republic of Kazakhstan. One of the key joint initiatives is a renewable energy project with a total capacity of 800 MW, which includes the construction of a 300 MW solar power plant in the Turkistan region and a 500 MW wind power plant in the Karaganda region.

The parties reviewed the progress of the project and discussed the next steps, including the upcoming signing of the EPC contract for the solar power plant and the start of construction in the fourth quarter of this year.

The parties also reaffirmed their commitment to continue joint efforts on project and technical solutions aimed at modernizing and digitalizing Samruk-Energy’s existing power plants under the Strategic Agreement signed at the SCO Summit on September 2 of this year.
