Number of workplace accidents across Samruk-Energy group decreases sixfold according to results of 1H of 2025

Samruk-Energy JSC has reported its occupational health and safety (OHS) performance results for the first half of 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of workplace accidents across the group has decreased sixfold.

Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC, Kairat Maxutov, highlighted the positive trend in reducing occupational injuries and instructed the chief executives of subsidiary companies to tighten oversight of safety compliance in the workplace. He also emphasized the importance of proactive occupational safety measures aimed at preventing industrial risks and incidents. In particular, he underlined the need for timely identification and mitigation of potential hazards, fostering a strong safety culture, and engaging employees in health and safety processes.

In the first half of 2025, Samruk-Energy group expanded the deployment of electronic medical screening systems (EMSS), acquired safety helmets equipped with cameras, body-worn video badges, and began implementing AI-powered video analytics. Additionally, fatigue monitoring systems (Anti-Sleep) have been installed on haul trucks operating at the Bogatyr coal mine.

During the second half of the year, plans include equipping haul trucks with automatic fire suppression systems, installing dashboard cameras in company vehicles, updating the group-wide standard on technical requirements for protective clothing and personal protective equipment, and providing executive-level training for subsidiary executive teams under the “Occupational safety Leader” program.
