According to Nayzabek Olzhabayuly, Head of Changes management unit, the assessment of viability is one of key results of Stage 1 "Diagnostics and Design" in Business Transformation Program: which shows how fast can the company respond to external changes in market conditions, get updated, take decisions; the viability is as important for any company as its effectiveness. However viability is a long-term target.
So how is viability assessed? - Participants in each company are provided with special questionnaires, in which they are asked to talk about the current state of the company, its politics, culture and so on. The second part of the assessment includes personal interviews with employees of the company of all its levels. An analysis of current operating performance and management practices is made according to results of the work performed, which is followed by benchmarking against preferred operating models, that will result in development of top-echelon plan for achievement of management practices’ target values.
As of today, viability assessment was held in "Ekibastuz GRES-1"LLP, "Bogatyr-Komir" LLP, "APP" JSC, "Ekibastuz GRES-2 power plant" JSC, “Samruk Green-Energy” LLP, “Moynak HPP” JSC and "Shardarinskaya HPP" JSC.
