A quality corporate governance system is an important condition for the long-term sustainable development of a modern Company.

Commitment to sustainable development is one of “Samruk-Energy” JSC principles, whereby the Company strives to ensure the conformity of its economic, environmental and social goals.

The economic component directs the Company's activities to the growth of long-term value, meeting the interests of shareholders and investors, enhancing the efficiency of processes, increasing investments in the creation and development of more advanced technologies, and improving labor efficiency.

The environmental component ensures the minimization of the impact on biological and physical natural systems, the efficient use of limited resources, the use of environmentally friendly, energy- and material-saving technologies, the creation of environmentally acceptable products, the minimization, processing and disposal of waste.

The social component focuses on the principles of social responsibility, which among others include: ensuring occupational safety and preservation of employees health, equitable remuneration and respect for the rights of workers, individual development of personnel, implementation of social programs for personnel, creation of new jobs, sponsorship and charity, conducting environmental and educational stocks.

 

Our approach

“Samruk-Energy” JSC’s sustainable development policy widely applies the aspects of sustainable development through the introduction of best practices in production, environmental initiatives, occupational safety and the social sphere in order to ensure sustainable economic growth in the regions where the Company operates, while respecting interests of stakeholders and strategic objectives of the Company. The main documents of “Samruk-Energy” JSC that ensure the implementation of sustainable development principles are the Sustainable Development Guidelines, the Corporate Governance Code, Environmental Policy, Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Personnel Policy and other internal regulatory documents.

In accordance with the Corporate Governance Code of “Samruk-Energy” JSC, we comply with the following principles in the field of sustainable development:

Grievance and Proposals Mechanism

Taking into account the needs, expectations, suggestions and opinions of stakeholders is one of significant factors in ensuring the sustainable development of the Company. “Samruk-Energy” JSC is committed to constantly improve the efficiency of communication with all stakeholders.

To improve interaction, we introduced Feedback monitoring, which allows responding to complaints and suggestions of all stakeholders at the “Samruk-Energy” JSC group of companies.

For these purposes, we have organized the following channels of communication on economic, environmental and social issues:

These inquiries were analyzed in terms of the aspects involved, identifying the regions with the highest number of appeals, categories of persons who submitted appeals to “Samruk-Energy” JSC group of companies, statistics on the subject of appeals and analysis of complaints. Each complaint has been assigned a category.

The results of the analysis of inquiries received are communicated to the Board of Directors. Actions aimed at improvement of activities of “Samruk-Energy” JSC group of companies are developed on the basis of results of complaints and proposals monitoring.
