Occupational health and safety issues, as well as the responsibilities of technical inspectors at production facilities were key topics of the workshop arranged by “Samruk-Energy” JSC local trade union in Ekibastuz city. 92 technical inspectors of companies that are part of “Samruk-Energy” JSC – “Bogatyr Komir LLP, “Ekibastuz SDPP-1” LLP and “Ekibastuz SDPP-2 Plant” JSC, took part in the event.
The workshop aimed to increase the knowledge of technical inspectors (authorized representative of the trade union) on the Republic of Kazakhstan labor legislation matters, investigation and registration of workplace accidents and civil liability of an employer. Information on basics of trade union movement in Kazakhstan and its role in the future labor was provided. N. Presentations and guidelines on occupational safety and health issues were presented during the workshop. Actual examples of violations of workers' rights and obligations of employers in the workplace were considered.
“One of the important issues that the union faces is the partnership with an employer when creating safe working conditions for workers, given that children and families are behind each of them. Our workshop-meeting provides an opportunity both to gain specific knowledge and to exchange experience in addressing controversial situations in labor activity at production facilities “ said Alimbetov Zh.K., Head of the Office of Kazakhstani Trade Union of Power Engineers” PA.
The most outstanding workers from among the technical inspectors were awarded diplomas and prizes for high professionalism, active labor and social activities.
