Centralized trading of capacity on the Northern and Southern zones of the Unified Power System (UPS) of the republic were held in Kazakhstan for the first time. The trades were held on the trading site of “KOREM” JSC, Kazakhstan electricity and power market operator, and were conducted taking into account the transmission capacity of power lines that connect the Northern and Southern zones of the RK UPS.
A center-platform based on “Samruk-Energy” JSC Trade house, was created for the participation of the energy-producing organizations of the company – “APP” JSC, “Ekibastuz SDPP-1” LLP, “Ekibastuz SDPP-2” Plant” JSC, “Shardarinsk HPP” JSC and "Moynak HPP" JSC named after U.D. Kantayev” in centralized trading of capacity.
According to the results of centralized capacity trading, Samruk-Energy’s subsidiaries sold 2 148,7 MW of capacity on the northern and southern zones of the Republic of Kazakhstan UPS with potential capacity of about 4 800 MW.
The results of capacity trades conducted will allow carrying out investment activities in order to ensure trouble free operation of “Samruk-Energy” JSC power equipment in 2019.
