On the work of the Kazakh-Korean Energy Forum

Future energy in Korea and Kazakhstan against the backdrop of climate change was discussed today in Astana during the Kazakh-Korean Energy Forum

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) who acted as organizers of the forum, offered to discuss Kazakh-Korean cooperation terms in power sector.

Jaehong Kim, KOTRA President and Cho Hwan-Eik, KEPCO President were the speakers. Goran Brynce , Vice-Chairman of the European Federation for RES delivered a keynote speech to the forum participants. Representatives of of Kazakhstan and Korea government institutions,  Yang-Sam Kim,  permanent commissioner  of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea and Bakhytzhan Dzhaksaliyev,  Vice-Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan delivered their congratulations.  

The forum with five sessions in the format of the conference became a dialogue platform for business representatives of the two countries. Almassadam Satkaliyev, Chairman of the Board of “Samruk-Energy” JSC touched upon the prospects for development of sustainable energy in his report.

The organizers of the event are confident that participation in the forum will allow not only to discuss the terms of cooperation in advance, but also to establish potential partnerships. Approximately  20 leading Korean companies were represented as potential partners.
