Astana Economic Forum: "Samruk-Energy" JSC and Primus Power Corporation signed an agreement of intent on implementation of the second pilot project for installation and testing of energy storage systems at 45 MW wind power plant in Ereymentau city

The agreement with Primus Power Corporation on development of electricity storage devices is a new direction in the development of technology on RES integration

Today, on May 26 in the framework of Astana Economic Forum, Almassadam Satkaliyev, Chairman of the Board of "Samruk-Energy" JSC and Tom Stepien, Primus Power Corporation CEO signed an agreement of intent on implementation of the second pilot project for installation and testing of energy storage systems at 45 MW wind power plant in Ereymentau city.

The agreement with Primus Power Corporation on development of electricity storage devices is a new direction in the development of technology on RES integration. In the future, this start-up is able to change the situation in the market "- said Almassadam Satkaliyev, the head of "Samruk-Energy" JSC

- We expect that the joint work on the development of electricity storage technologies contributes to the development of renewable energy sector and will provide us with opportunities for practical implementation of innovative solutions in power industry of Kazakhstan- said Tom Stepien, the head of Primus Power Corporation.

“Samruk-Energy” JSC and Primus Power Corporation signed an agreement on strategic partnership on May 22, 2015 during the VIII Astana Economic Forum; it provides for the implementation of pilot projects followed by establishment of a joint venture for production and supply of energy storage systems -EnergyPod® in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The first demonstration pilot project of energy storage system EnergyPod with capacity of 25 kW was launched on March 11, 2016 on the basis of 2 MW solar power plant in Kapshagay city.
