Today, the CCS held a media briefing with the participation of Chairman of the Board of “Samruk-Energy” JSC Almasadam Satkaliyev on the issues of implementation of the projects in the energy sphere.

The company is now implementing 14 projects aimed at future development of the infrastructure. The implementation of these projects will allow to reduce the deficit of electric power and provide new opportunities for social and economic development of regions.

Today, the CCS held a media briefing with the participation of Chairman of the Board of “Samruk-Energy” JSC Almasadam Satkaliyev on the issues of implementation of the projects in the energy sphere.

The company is now implementing 14 projects aimed at future development of the infrastructure. The implementation of these projects will allow to reduce the deficit of electric power and provide new opportunities for social and economic development of regions.

Samruk-Energy in partnership with Samsung C&T works on construction of the Balkhash thermal power station. The design capacity of the station is 1320 MW. The implementation of this project will allow to increase the energy security of the country in long-term.

The works already began, the road is currently being constructed, drilling and blasting operations are held. The infrastructure has also been prepared already.

New technologies applied in construction of the Balkhash thermal power station will allow to save up to 900 thousand tons of coal a year. Besides, a great emphasis in construction of the plant was made at reduction of the emissions.

Besides traditional energy sources, the company is also engaged in development of renewable energy sources. Samruk-Energy Company will finish construction of the first phase of the Yereimentau wind power station with the capacity of 45 MW in 2014. This plant will be the main facility generating electricity for the EXPO-2017.

Samruk-Energy will allocate KZT 583.5 bln for modernization of power stations within the program “Tariff in exchange for investments” in the period from 2009 through 2015 and KZT 278 bln in 2014-2015.
