More than 2000 reputable participants discussed environmental safety issues and prospects of fuel and energy sector development during three days of forum. Leading experts of global oil and gas market, representatives of large international and Kazakh companies including “Samruk-Energy” JSC were among those who attended the event.
Relevant issues of developing all industry segments to ensure regional energy security were discussed during the anniversary forum. In the keynote session of the Forum on "CHANGING OF ENERGY DEVELOPMENT IN EUROPE AND CONSEQUENCES FOR CENTRAL ASIA" the Chairman of the Board of "Samruk-Energy" JSC Almasadam Satkaliyev made a presentation on "Modern challenges of energy transition and their impact on Kazakhstan’s energy sector”. A.Satkaliyev considered the matter from the perspective of introducing the mechanism of the so-called carbon tax:
- "In the initial tax of not more than one dollar per ton of CO2, the total fee will make up to $ 100 million, and the electricity tariff will rise by slight 0.1 cents per kilowatt hour. This measure will not only create a coherent legal framework, but also provide a real cash flow which has to work systematically for the needs of energy transition.
Topical issues of the industry affecting not only economic development, but also the geopolitical situation in the world were discussed at the panel session "Modern trends in clean energy" prepared in cooperation with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
The session was attended by representatives of the EBRD, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Egypt, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia, Energy Development of Minas Energy (Canada)
The resolution which includes key recommendations for the further development of oil and gas and power market in the current environment was adopted at the end of X KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum
Participants of the forum state the need for orderly and sustainable development of international oil and gas and energy partnership, fully taking into consideration the interests and views of all countries of the Eurasian continent, as well as note the remaining high impact of oil and gas and energy sector on the development of Kazakhstan's economy.
In addition, there was an exhibition “Energy4us”: Innovative Energy to demonstrate the application of cutting edge technological developments in the energy sector. More than 10 leading companies of Kazakhstan presented achievements in the field of innovation in the energy sector. "Samruk-Energy" JSC presented the design of 45 MW Yereymentau wind power plant. The stand of "Samruk-Energy” JSC was awarded a diploma “Diploma of the Best Audience Choice”.
